Kelie decides that she IS a winter surfer and has a blast out with her friends at the beach. Nancy and Kelie are finding their groove.
Kelie went to the San Diego North County Knitters Guild where she saw a presentation by Jane Thornley a fiber artist from Nova Scotia. She attended a workshop the following day where she learned the concept of “Knitting off the Grid”. She has a Ravelry group where you can see all the projects being made with Jane’s patterns. It was a wonderful time filled with joyful knitting and she’s very excited to see what she can do with her handspun using Jane’s methods.
Nancy enjoyed a textiles exhibit at FIDM where they were showing the latest in technology for fashion. There was an inflatable jacket made with NuDown technology, a solar jacket, and recycled glass pants. Kelie wants to see recycled beer bottle yarn.
Nancy and Kelie talk about the classic movie “Back to the Future II”, where the characters travel into the future to October 21, 2015. This just happens to be Nancy’s birthday and we’re planning a Back to the Future birthday party!
